When it comes to student retention, there is nothing more important than communication. Over the past three years, Emory & Henry College has done an amazing job improving their campus-wide communications and we want to recognize them for their incredible turnaround!

Communication between professors, athletic coaches, and other staff members is crucial for student care, but when those communications are inconsistent it’s hard to know where each student stands.

This issue came to light for Emory & Henry College when professors would express concern for student athletes. The professors would contact coaches in different ways and would rarely follow up on a student’s progress; since there were so many inconsistencies it was hard for faculty members to share in the responsibility of care for their students.

So Emory & Henry College sought out a way to improve campus-wide communication and was eventually referred to Pharos Resources.

No time was wasted searching for email addresses or the student’s class schedule, all of the information was easily available and easily accessed.

With such eager staff and faculty there was an immediate turnaround in the effectiveness of their communication. No time was wasted searching for email addresses or the student’s class schedule, all of the information was easily available and easily accessed. Faculty members were able to document a student’s progress, report to one another, and come together to make this system work.

Emory & Henry College has proven to be a very driven and innovative partner. Pharos Resources enables campuses to take control of their communication and documentation processes, but it’s up to the school to use them, and Emory & Henry College has done exactly that.
